We are a small company … or companies. Yet, at Boutique Window, National Merchant Alliance and POSIM, nearly 10% of our workforce has had a parent die from cancer. If you add in those who have had it themselves, or had a spouse with cancer, that number grows … and then if you add in the number of us at Retail Success with a close relative that has battled cancer or lost a battle to cancer, that number rises even more; then if you add in those who have had friends in the battle … the number grows again. And it goes on and on. Well, more than half of our workforce has been directly impacted by this nasty disease. So we are showing our solidarity … and hopefully raising a little money. As Brian in our development department said, “this is a hell of a good reason to look like a hobo for a month”… so we think that factors in also. 🙂
Cancer prevention, research and education is also a hell of a reason to donate to the Retail Success No-Shave November Team. Sadly, as you’ve been reading this, you’ve probably been thinking of someone close to you who has been affected by this terrible disease. Let’s work towards putting a stop to this, together. If you’d like to read more about the No-Shave November Organization and the charities they donate to, we have provided that information below.
And if you are having trouble convincing your wife that you will look good with a full beard, tell her that you have more options than just a plain-old beard. Here are a few ideas she may consider:

Here is a little bit of information on the No Shave November Organization that we have a team with this year:
No-Shave November is a web-based, non-profit organization devoted to growing cancer awareness and raising funds to support cancer prevention, research and education.
The goal of No-Shave November is to grow awareness by embracing our hair, which many cancer patients lose, and letting it grow wild and free. Donate the money you would typically spend on shaving and grooming to educate about cancer prevention, save lives and aid those fighting the battle.
Participate by growing a beard, cultivating a mustache, letting those legs go natural, and skipping that waxing appointment. Put down your razor and set up your own personal No-Shave November fundraising page. If you’re not ready to get hairy, sit back and support someone who is.
The rules of No-Shave November are simple: put down your razor for 30 days and donate your monthly hair-maintenance expenses to the cause. Strict dress-code at work? Don’t worry about it! We encourage participation of any kind; grooming and trimming are perfectly acceptable.
From September 1, 2015 to December 31, 2015, No-Shave November will donate no less than 80% of donations equally to participating charities:
- American Cancer Society
- Prevent Cancer Foundation
- Fight Colorectal Cancer
- St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital
Thank you for all of your support,
The Retail Success Team
