The holiday shopping season is nearing an end, but there will be plenty of last minute shoppers who need your help! Here are some fun ideas to drive traffic in store and make your shoppers’ lives a little easier.
1. Offer Online Ordering + Local Pickup
Encourage shoppers to call in or email their orders beforehand. After you receive payment, you can remove price tags and gift wrap their purchases so they can quickly pick up their ready-to-give presents.
2. Make a Gift Wrap Station
Have a designated area in your store packed full with gift wrapping materials. Keep an employee nearby to quickly package purchases for your shoppers. Here are some quick and affordable gift wrap ideas and here is a sign you can frame or hang nearby!
3. Extend your Hours
Give shoppers some extra time in the last couple weeks of holiday shopping. Stay open late on the weekends and offer special deals to encourage shoppers to finish their holiday buying with you.
4. Host a Contest
Keep a giant jar of ornaments near the checkout counter. Shoppers can submit their guesses for how many ornaments are in the jar. Announce the winner on December 26th so the winner can buy themselves a gift after the holidays with a free gift card!
5. Elf on the Shelf Daily Deals
Share a photo of the Elf on the Shelf near a specific product and offer a special sale price for the day.
6. Surprise Discounts at Checkout
Sweeten the deal by letting shoppers pick a candy cane out of an opaque jar when they’re checking out. Attach colorful tape to the bottom of each candy cane to signify different deals (10% – 30% off). Shoppers will love the surprise and they can keep the candy cane!
7. Express Gift Card Checkout
Remind shoppers that you sell gift cards for the pickiest of gift recipients. Have a pile of cards ready for purchase for a quick checkout. You can even place them in tiny bags or add tiny bows to the top of them so last minute shoppers don’t have to worry about making a second stop to wrap them up!
8. Create Ready-Made Gift Bundles
This is a great idea for the indecisive customer. Shoppers trust your styling expertise, so package together a set of matching gift items. You can share collages from your Boutique Window to advertise and tell shoppers the bundles will be gift wrapped and ready to go in the store.
