How do I get started with Boutique Window?
Signing up for a Boutique Window account is easy! All users may try Boutique Window free for 15 days. Begin by filling out your login and payment information on the sign up page. You’ll need to select either a Starter or Pro plan and then click “Start My Free Trial.” Next, the Setup Wizard will walk you through adding store details and connecting your social networks!
Where can I find my login information?
Your login information is the email address and password you initially signed up with. If you’re unsure of your login information, please click “I can’t sign in or I forgot my password”. You’ll need to navigate to the email account that you originally signed up with and retrieve the password reset link.
Why do you need my credit card information?
Each user receives a free 15 day trial. To ensure uninterrupted access to your account, we require users provide payment information at the time of sign up. If at any point during your free 15 day trial you decide to cancel your account, we will not charge your credit card.
What are the differences between Starter and Pro plans?
All Boutique Window plans come standard with the ability to send and schedule social media activity, connect to the five main social networks (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and Google+), and create custom designs using the graphic designer feature.
The Starter plan is the perfect plan for novice users who are unsure whether Boutique Window will be the right fit for their business. Starter provides access to the Basic Content Library as well as a product gallery with storage for up to 350 product images.
The Pro plan was built for users who are ready to really invest in their online presence. This plan includes access to the Premium Content Library, a product gallery with storage for up to 1,000 product images, an email marketing integration with MailChimp or Constant Contact with access to our simple email builder, and monthly marketing assistance with our creative kits.
Can I change my plan?
Absolutely! You can do so anytime in your Account Settings. Simply navigate to the Billing & Plan Info and click “Change Your Plan.” Select the plan you’d like to switch to and enjoy uninterrupted access throughout the update.
How do I cancel my plan?
Oh no! We’re sorry to see you leave Boutique Window! If you decide to cancel, navigate to your Account Settings. Under Billing & Plan Info, click “Need to Cancel?” and then click “Please cancel my account” to confirm.
It’s important to note that all information and data associated with your account will be permanently deleted. Your account will be closed immediately, and you will not be billed again.
Will you try to access my personal Facebook page?
Boutique Window will never post to your personal Facebook account. However, because you are a page administrator, we ask permission to access your personal page in order to connect your Facebook business page. Trust us – keep clicking through the Setup Wizard prompts and it will ask you which Brand Page you’d like to connect. At that point, you’ll be able to choose your specific Facebook business page.
Do you have a training program?
Yes! We are more than happy to setup a one-on-one training with any new or existing customer. However, we do ask that you take some time to explore our support resources to better acquaint yourself with the basics of Boutique Window. Is there a difference between basic and premium content?
Yes! Our team of designers have created an exceptional amount of both basic and premium content. While all of the images in our Content Library are of the highest quality, we like to think our premium images take our content design to the “next level.” Basic content comprises about one third to one half the content in the library; while Pro account users have access to both basic and premium designs.
May I request custom-designed graphics?
Yes, however we do recommend using Boutique Window’s graphic designer feature to build any custom graphics. While we love feedback and special design requests, we aren’t always able to accommodate each and every inquiry. If you have searched our Content Library and still can’t find what you’re looking for, simply send us a message and we’ll see if we can help!
Is there a limit to how much content I can use?
Not at all! You may share as many graphics as you’d like with your active, paid-subscription to Boutique Window.
May I download content to use in my store?
How do I add merchandise to my Product Gallery?
Depending on whether your Boutique Window Product Gallery is “public” or “private,” you’ll either click the “Products” or “Your Images” tab at the top of your page. From there, you can click the “Add Merchandise” button, which will allow you to upload photos directly from your computer.
Is there a limit to the number of images I can upload?
Yes, there is a storage limit on the number of images you may upload to your Product Gallery. For the Starter plan, you may upload up to 350 images and for the Pro plan, you may upload up to 1,000 images.
May I share multiple images at once?
Absolutely! Select the “Share Photo Collage” button to share a collage of up to 9 product photos from your Product Gallery. Or you may also share a Facebook album of images from your Product Gallery. Both methods are great for sharing multiple images at one time – scheduled in advance or sent immediately. This is a great way to share photos of items that are on sale or showcase your new arrivals.
May I have an empty Product Gallery?
Yes, you may have a Product Gallery without images. However if set to “public,” your gallery will not be accessible to people who visit your page if it doesn’t have images. We encourage you to upload current photos of your products and keep this part of your Boutique Window up-to-date.
How do I add product details?
To add product details, navigate to “Your Images” or “Product Gallery.” Underneath your photos, you’ll see options to edit the title and add a description. If your gallery is “public,” you can add a price, mark an item “on sale” or “sold out.”
May I sell items directly from my Boutique Window?
Boutique Window supports a shopping cart feature if you have a PayPal account. By setting your Product Gallery to “public,” you can use our “Buy online through PayPal” option. This allows for customers to add items in your gallery to a shopping cart and then proceed to checkout with you via PayPal. You also have the option to connect an Etsy store so that your social posts and emails link them back to your online store where they can continue to browse merchandise and make purchases.
How do I choose whether to have my gallery ``public`` or ``private``?
If you have an existing website, you may opt for a “private” Product Gallery. Boutique Window recommends uploading product photos into your Product Gallery to use in email marketing campaigns, sharing to social networks, and creating custom graphics.
If you connect an Etsy store to Boutique Window, your gallery will automatically be set to “private” since your online shop acts as your website.
If you don’t have an existing website or Etsy store and want to showcase merchandise online, choosing to make your Product Gallery “public” may be the option for you. You can upload product photos and add various details including a description and price. Along with the ability to create and customize pages, your Product Gallery may be used as your informational website.
I own my domain name - how do I redirect it?
Each Boutique Window user has a unique identification name that the individual user sets at the time of sign up. That unique identification is used to set the account URL. If you choose to set your Product Gallery to “public,” then you may send this URL to customers in order for them to access your Boutique Window website.
However, if you already have a domain and would like to redirect to your Boutique Window website, don’t worry – it’s easy to setup a 301 redirect with your domain host.
Contact us for instructions or assistance on redirecting your domain. We’ve assisted hundreds of customers in redirecting domains to Boutique Window URLs.
How does the email marketing integration work?
How do I setup an account with MailChimp or Constant Contact?
Which email marketing provider works best - Constant Contact or MailChimp?
Both Constant Contact and MailChimp have outstanding reputations and millions who enjoy their individual services! While we love both platforms, the choice is ultimately up to you. We recommend that you take a look at both options as there are both pros and cons depending on the user. They both provide great functionality, but while MailChimp is a bit less expensive, Constant Contact’s customer service is a bit more hands-on. Choose the service that works better with your usability.
Do I pay separately for my MailChimp or Constant Contact account?
Yes! While the Boutique Window email marketing integration is a feature of the Pro plan, service with both MailChimp and Constant Contact is an additional fee and must be taken care of through their specific site. To sign up for an account or manage your account settings, you’ll need to login to MailChimp or Constant Contact.
Why doesn’t Boutique Window have its own email marketing provider?
Boutique Window chose not to create their own email marketing platform because we didn’t see a point in reinventing the wheel. Boutique Window opted to integrate with two of the leading email marketing service providers to give you the best service possible.
Is the email template mobile-responsive?
It is! Our email template is simple and streamlined. Emails look clean and professional no matter what device they’re viewed on.
Where do I add my contact list?
Managing contacts, unsubscribes, segments or lists is available through your email marketing provider (Constant Contact or MailChimp). To add, edit or remove contacts from lists, you’ll need to login to your specific user account through your email marketing service provider.
Do you integrate with any other email service providers?
No, not at this time. Constant Contact and MailChimp are two of the leading email service providers. Boutique Window integrates with these options to offer our users the very best in email marketing capabilities.
How much does MailChimp and Constant Contact cost?
Individual pricing is available at http://www.MailChimp.com/pricing and http://www.constantcontact.com/pricing. While pricing may vary between services, please note that the Pro plan of Boutique Window does not include the email marketing provider cost. The cost for integration with Boutique Window includes the ability to access the email builder, templates, Content Library as well as scheduling and social tools related to sending a message.
While we do not benefit off of the subscription to either service, we do want to mention that novice email marketers may enjoy service with MailChimp which is free for up to the first 2,000 subscribers. However, this free service limits users to send 12,000 emails per month. Please note that MailChimp counts an email send by the individual email address sent to and not the entire campaign. For example, you may send six email campaigns per month to 2,000 subscribers to total 12,000 emails sent per month.
How does the “Graphic Designer” feature work in Boutique Window?
With our easy-to-use Graphic Designer, you can create your own graphics to use for emails and social content. Simply choose one of our pre-made graphics and edit it to your liking or start from scratch and design a graphic that is uniquely yours!
Boutique Window provides the ability to upload your own logos, backgrounds or images or choose from one of our many backgrounds, add text, product photos, shapes or stickers – plus change the colors to your liking. Let out that inner artist and have fun with what you create!
What are the size options for the Graphic Designer?
The graphics you create in the Graphic Designer can be of any size up to 615 pixels. Or you can choose one of our canvas size presets. There is a “Narrow” email header size of 615 x 200, a “Medium” email header size of 615 x 250, a “Thick” email header size of 615 x 300 and a square canvas size of 615 x 615.
May I download the graphics I design?
No, at this time there is no method to download a graphic that you create in Boutique Window. However, you may use the graphic in all social content as well as within the email builder.
May I upload my own images?
Yes! Under the “Editing Tools” in the Graphic Designer click “Images;” then click “Upload Your Image.” You may pull images directly from your computer.
What can I do with the images I have designed?
You may share the images you create within the Graphic Designer to your connected social networks as well as use them within the email builder. Please note that you must be a Pro user to access the email builder.
May I upload my own fonts?
Unfortunately at this time you cannot upload your own fonts for use in the graphic designer. However, Boutique Window has many fantastic fonts to choose from, including serif, sans serif, handwritten and script fonts.
May I change my unique Boutique Window name or URL?
Yes, you may absolutely update your Boutique Window name and URL! Simply contact us with your current Boutique Window name or URL and include information on what you intend to change it to! This may take up to one day to accomplish as we’ll need to notify our developers, who will promptly change this on your behalf. Once completed, we will notify you of the change.
What are “Trusted Email” settings used for?
Our “Trusted Email” function allows you to easily upload product photos by emailing those photos to your Boutique Window account. Only email addresses listed in your “Trusted Email” list have the ability to send photos to your account. Once emailed, the photos will appear in your Merchandise Staging Area, located within your Product Gallery.
How do I add email addresses to the “Trusted Email” settings?
Navigate to your Account Settings and click “Trusted Emails.” Under “Trusted Email Address List” you will have the ability to add or remove email addresses. We recommend only adding the emails of trusted staff members. Be sure to remind employees that product photos can only be sent from the specified “trusted email.” If an employee sends from a different email address, not listed as a “Trusted Email,” the photos will not appear in your Boutique Window account.
May I update my social networks in the Account Settings?
Yes, absolutely! Under Account Settings, click “Social Networks.” You may disconnect and reconnect Facebook and Twitter as well as update your Pinterest, Instagram and Google+ account URLs.
Why do you need access to my personal Facebook page?
Boutique Window will only post to your Facebook Business Page. However, to access the Business Page, we need approval from a page administrator. We ask permission to access your personal page in order to connect through to the Facebook Business Page you are an administrator of.
Please note, Boutique Window will never post to your personal Facebook account. When signing up for the first time, simply keep clicking through the prompts. It will ask you which “Brand Page” you’d like to connect. At that point, you’ll be able to choose your specific Facebook Business Page.
May I connect to two different Facebook accounts?
No, at this time, you may only connect one Facebook account to Boutique Window.
May I schedule my Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and Google+ posts?
Yes, absolutely! With our easy-to-use Content Calendar, you have the ability to schedule posts to all social networks as far in advance as you’d like, making it easy to build your online presence.
Will it post to Facebook & Twitter automatically - without my additional help?
Yes! Your shares to Facebook and Twitter will always post automatically without any additional steps.
Will it post to Instagram automatically - without my additional help?
There are a few additional steps that need to be completed to successfully post to Instagram. Currently, Instagram does not allow automatic posting from third-party applications (like Boutique Window).
To complete your shares to Instagram, you will need to install the Boutique Window app on your iPhone or iPad. When your shares to Instagram are ready for completion, you will receive a “task” notification. Open your Boutique Window app, navigate to your task section and tap “Share” on the specific Instagram post. Additional prompts will walk you through completing your share.
Will it post to Pinterest automatically - without my additional help?
No, Pinterest requires one additional step to post – the choice of which board to pin to (duh!). When your Pinterest shares are ready to be completed, you will receive a “task” notification. To complete your pins, you can do so from a computer or the Boutique Window app for iPhone or iPad. Navigate to your task section and tap or click “share” on the specific Pinterest pin. Pinterest will always ask you to choose a board to pin to.
How does the Google+ connection work?
The Google+ integration works similarly to the Instagram and Pinterest connections. In order to complete your share, you must first make your Google+ page a standalone business page. The Google+ platform is currently a work in progress – they’re rebuilding the platform to focus on photos and “communities” (a place where people with common interests can connect and share information). We have created a document with step-by-step instructions on how to do this. It can be found on our support docs. Once completed, you can share directly to your Google+ business page. If scheduling Google+ content for future posting, you’ll receive a “task” notification at time of completion.
Will it post to Google+ automatically - without my additional help?
Just like Pinterest and Instagram, when a share is ready to go to Google+, a task will be created. To complete your Google+ share, make sure you’ve already made your business page a standalone page. The task will only be available through your Boutique Window desktop application. At this time, the Google+ integration is not accessible through the mobile app for iPhone and iPad.
