How to Disable Your “Everything” Tab for Social Media and Marketing Purposes
How merchandise is displayed and organized matters when it comes to retail marketing and we support our customers’ opinion to organize their merchandise how they choose. With our latest Boutique Window social media and marketing development, the Product Gallery now provides users the ability to enable or disable the “everything” tab.
The theory behind the Boutique Window Product Gallery was to provide an online showroom of merchandise for independent retailers who may or may not have a store website or the necessary social media tools to share products. This easy-to-use gallery acts not only as a storage for merchandise images, but also provides users the capability to easily schedule and share products to their connected social networks along with being readily-available for use in email campaigns. Talk about the best social media marketing bundle!
For retailers who use their product gallery as their website, the site acts as an online showroom—providing shoppers with product images and details. The entire site was developed to mimic image views that shoppers are used to seeing on Pinterest and Facebook. Because if there are two things those companies know how to do, it’s social media and marketing.
When a shopper visits the site, they immediately see the latest arrivals or product additions. And isn’t that what shoppers and returning customers want to check out when they visit your site? Well yes, kind of. The “collections” were built as a way for retailers to organize their Boutique Window merchandise—providing easy access for shoppers to find what they want quickly. However, every retailer has their own way of doing social media and marketing. Some retailers prefer to highlight specific items on their “home page,” rather than just what they’ve recently uploaded to their product gallery.
With all of that in mind, we’re pleased to announce our latest Boutique Window development: the ability to enable or disable the “Everything” tab! We have some big plans for this in the future, but for now here’s how a public Product Gallery will work:
- Your product gallery will need to be set to “public.” This means that you either use Boutique Window as your website or with the widget on your existing site.
- You will need to have at least one additional collection created, before you may disable the “Everything” option.
- When logged in to your account, you will always see the “Everything” option (whether disabled or enabled). When disabled, a shopper will no longer see the “Everything” option, they will now see first collection you’ve created.
