Boutique Window’s built in photo editor makes it quick and easy to make pictures of your merchandise look great. This article will help you get started by showing you how to open the editor and how to use the crop and brightness tools.
How to Find the Photo Editor
You can edit your photos before or after publishing. Simply hover over the image you’d like to edit and click on the “Edit” button. This will open up the item details page for the item.
Next, click on “Edit Image” to open the photo editing tools.
From here, you can access any of the photo editing tools in Boutique Window. Today, we’re going to cover using the Crop and Brightness tools.
How to Crop a Photo
You can use this tool to trim away excess background from your photo. Use this tool to make sure your item is shown as large as possible and eliminate visual clutter from your image. Our example image doesn’t have a lot going on in the background, but there’s quite a bit of extra space in the image that doesn’t need to be there. To trim this away, click on the “Crop” button.
Use the selection box to determine which parts of the image you want to trim away. Drag the corners of the box in or out until the portion of the image you would like to keep is shown inside of the selection box and click “Apply” to preview the change.
If you’re not happy with the results and would like to try again, you can click on the undo button at the bottom left of the photo editor. If you’re happy with the change, click on “Save” to finalize your changes.
How to Brighten a Dark Photo
Pictures that are taken inside using natural light can come out a little dark. You can use the brightness tool to lighten up your images. The example image we’re using came out very dark.
To start, open the photo editor for the image you’d like to brighten. Click on the “Brightness” tool.
Drag the slider to the right to brighten your image. The further to the right you go, the brighter your image will get. If you have a photo that ends up overexposed or too bright, you can also use this tool to darken it. Just pull the slider to the left to darken your image. Once you have the brightness level where you want it, click “Apply”.
From here you can make additional edits to your photo, or click “Save” to finalize your changes.
